It is now necessary to increase and quantify the minimum performance requirements;
All the basic comfort levels should be included in the buildings itself;

2. Residential Buildings:
The changes are made to achieve energy savings by up to 18% for residential buildings. The codes are simplified for the residential buildings of Class 1, Class 2-solo-occupancy and parts of class 4 buildings. Some other extensions of the improvements are:
Separate heat and cooling load limits;
New verification methods for building envelope sealing.
When are the changes coming into effect?
The changes will be effective from 1st May 2019 and it is expected to best benefit the building industry.
